💛🖤 Training Day done ✅⏰5:00am start for me today as I got to spend the day on the road being taught by the best Craig Suttle and what a great day we had 🥰Not only did I get the chance to meet some of our lovely clients who very kindly allowed me to be present on their journeys but also understanding exactly what goes into Chauffeuring and it’s not just driving ! Obtaining my licence was only the start and I learnt that today. Craig Suttle showed me all the best places to eat 🤣 and shared some of his little secrets on how to ensure the journey goes smoothly. I absolutely loved it and I’m looking forward to my first journey alone on the weekend 🙏🥰 In a couple of weeks I’ll have been working with Craig Suttle for a year and what a year it’s been ! So many more exciting things to come 🖤💛

We took on two new drivers this yearWhilst they each did at least one night with me they soon got fed up with the constant selfie taking so spent the majority of their training with OllyThe job itself isn't overly technical but there are some sites that can take several visits before you learn them fullyOne thing it did highlight was the need for a written training plan to be drawn up over the summer which we can put into practice next winterOne of the best bits about working just one season and not having all year operation? We get to pause, reflect and improve every summer. Putting together a formal training programme is now on my to do list for these warmer months #WinterSpecialists #TrainingPlan #Training

When I’m telling people what kind of education I do, I always get the comments; “So you just learn how to pour cola and coffee in a cup and how to do a safety demonstration right?” or “You’re just a server in the air in stead of in a restaurant, that’s so easy” no people! That’s is just 10, maybe 5% what we learn. The biggest thing that we learn is safety!! Today we went for an example to a swimming pool with the class to learn what to do during/after an emergency landing on water and what kind of commands we need to shout. We learned what kind of equipment we use, how to swim with a lifevest on and how to survive on water. So the next time when you say this, please read yourself in before you make any assumptions! and please listen to CA’S (Cabin Attendants) when they ask you something to do instead of arguing. We are there for you’re safety, we are not there to bully you, or something:)So the next time (hopefully never) if you hear “Inflate life vest, Jump!” or “Inflate life vest, get into raft!” you know what to do;)

Are you prepared for Winter driving? More specifically, are you prepared if you break down or get stuck in the cold?Do you have a full tank of fuel? Are you in cell range to call for help?Part of driver training includes teaching new drivers how to prepare, if you are stranded on a hwy for hours. Perhaps you may want to consider items you think are appropriate should this happen. Stay safe out there.

I find there’s a lot of crossover from my dog training world to my corporate world.(Credit to MacRae Sheepdogs):There are times when things don’t go well and it presents 2 options, get discouraged or turn it into motivation. Failure is a lesson and often the first step is reframing challenges into learning opportunities.Practice and staying motivated can be difficult for everyone at times. By breaking things down into smaller steps, setting achievable goals, seeking expert advice, having a support group and focusing on connection instead of correction, you can push through low moments and continue your path towards being the best partner for your dog. macraeway.com#macraeway

When discussing the journey to becoming a service dog trainer, I'm often asked about the 'right' certifications to pursue. The truth is, that becoming a successful trainer is less about formal certifications and more about practical experience and repetition. People often assume complexity equals quality, but in dog training, success often comes from keeping things straightforward and focusing on consistent practice. #DogTrainerJourney #SimplicityInTraining #ServiceDogSkills #CareerAdvice
